Some people don’t know what idiom are so I am going to tell them what they are. An idiom is saying something that doesn’t mean what you’re saying, it means something else that fit in your sentence. For example, “Break a Leg” means Good luck. Maybe a easier one is “Speak of the devil” it doesn’t mean someone is a devil or you are speaking of a devil, it means when your talking about someone and then they show up. “Hit the hay” means Wanting to sleep.
Hope someone learned something! 💙

Edit: I made this a year ago. I must say I got many likes :)

As an American born and raised, I just want to say that it’s okay to use the regular words and not all the idioms/figures of speech. It’s good to know the figures of speech because they are used, but 9 times out of 10 I’ll just use an ordinary word like I’m tired. Unless I’m trying to be emphatic or cute.

Also you gotta be a little careful because the different idioms have different connotations. If you tell someone you’re burnt out, yeah it means you’re tired, but specifically that could mean you’ve been working long hours for weeks and are so drained from that you cannot continue working without a good vacation.
