It will be a mistake for the Zs to come with a fixed lens. The Zs shouldn't try to compete with the Fujifilm X100 series. It should be more like that X-Pro but with a full film sensor.

Is this the influence of the Fujifilm success with the X100 line?

If it’s a full frame range finder, it might be a direct marketing hit for both Leica M series and Fuji X100.

Nikon needs to design more smaller lenses to go with this. Most current Z lenses protrude too much.

Ok Nikon, BUT PUT SOME EFFING FILM STOCK SIMULATIONS!!!

If Nikon is thinking correctly about this and, of course, actually does it, there is zero point in "protecting Z6/Z7 sales." That's Canon thinking. A company isn't in competition with itself. If Nikon sells a ZS rather than a Z6 II, either benefits Nikon. If they crapify this to avoid cannibalizing other models, they drive buyers to Canon, Sony, or Fujifilm, particularly the latter two if you're looking for a rangerfinderesque body. This is a good chance for Nikon to show new buyers they're interesting.

Almost immediately after suggesting either down featuring or up pricing, you immediately suggest it should have a bunch of video features from the Z9?!? In what universe does that make any sense? The silent electronic shutter makes sense in a street photography camera, but this never becomes a budget cinematographer's tool. It really is okay to imagine a different camera being optimal for its use case and not forcing higher pricing for things uninteresting for the target market.

Where are the Nikon S lenses with aperture control rings?

If this is where they are headed, they are missing the mark. Why would they price it that much higher than the Zf? Also, why are they introducing a rangefinder style body that will be better matched to the SE line of lenses (like for the Zf) than the S-line with their much heavier build, when they only have a couple of SE line lenses available now? The timing and pricing on this, as suggested by this video, are off. Having said that, if they launch a few more lenses and price this body similarly to the Zf, I for one, would be interested in checking it out.

So we are speaking about a smaller ZF - sort of in line with the ZFC line - with a high resolution sensor?

Do not make this camera with a fixed lens, add some compact primes with aperture rings and you will have a winner!

Desde un punto de vista estético y funcional, sin duda esa ZS sería MI CÁMARA, la cámara que he estado esperando toda la vida desde las Nikon S analógicas. ¡Espero ansioso la confirmación de la noticia!

I’ve been over the huge camera thing that Nikon seemed stuck on for a long time. The Z8 is a move in the right direction so I’ll snap up a Zs if it’s got the basic functionality I need.

Knowing Nikon, they will probably still stick a flip-out screen on it. No tilt screen = useless for street and event photography. Ironically, it is mostly street and event photographers who want a retro rangefinder-styled camera.

They should develop the Hybrid camera. I think it was perfect. Especially now with all the modernisation . P7100 to P7700 .

I don't think this is true but I think the brand to make it will have very successful sales! It's certainly the camera I'm waiting for. X-pro 4 is the closest but it's not full frame. The m series is out of most people's budget

20-25MP and a screen like the z8 has with fixed lens. i would love to get one!!!! with z-mount i would probably too. with a flip out screen i would not!!!

If z mount ver difficult. Lens mount too large for those kind of product. If non interchangable its alright. Bcs the lens diameter can be reducrd to the size of s mount

Personally I hope it comes with a Nikon S-mount adapter!

Z mount lenses are too big for nice compact rangefinder, and with z mount it would not be a rangefinder, it would be autofocus. They could use m mount and make it real rangefinder. But building optical rangefinder is quite expencive because rangefinder is complex optical device.
