I think most people here are missing the point. It doesn't matter where this city is or who funded it. The very fact that humans are attempting to build this kind of city is amazing and it serves as an inspiration going into the future. A future that is going to be full of problems such as climate change.

I love the concept, but it looks like the project failed. It was designed for 50, 000 residents, but currently only 300 students live on site. Still, I think some of the lessons learned here can be applied elsewhere.

Perhaps if you ignore the energy costs of building the city then you could call it efficient. At best, this is a demonstrator. Cities are organically grown, intentional cities have always been with minimal success.

the Masdar Pod cars have a Whining noise coming from the motor that is spur gears ? London's Heathrow Pod cars do not sound like 1920's Model T Ford's. -Arab technology needs to discover helical gears that operate much more smoothly and
