There's something about this song that speaks to me, and so I'm finally going to tackle it, and there's nobody better than Marty when it comes to teaching. You the man Marty!

"Threw it all Away" is another great Bob song. Amazing how many great tunes he wrote with just 4 or 5 chords...

About 8 years ago, at 33, I bought a shitty little 50 dollar guitar on ebay, and I found a lesson for the intro to Bob Marley's "redemption song". It was ol Marty here's lesson! And it took me a good while of painstaking work to get it down, but it was VERY doable, and I did it. And that experience became the basis for pretty much the next 8 years of learning. This has always been one of my favorite Dylan tunes and I always intended to learn it but lost track of it amidst all the other great stuff there is to learn! Well today, I take a look at this lesson, and figure- I'll have it by the weekend! How far we've come Marty!!!

I think its really cool that this Bob Dylan song specifically has seen a spike in popularity lately. Glad I got to see your interpretation on how this was played. Definitely took some pointers on this rhythm and pattern. Great Teaching!

Of the many excellent things about Marty's lessons--which I have learned from since he was on youcanlearnguitar in about 2008--is how he gets right to it! So many other guitar teachers talk and talk or go on about how to support them financially or go into theory that, let's face it, any serious player will already know--Marty just teaches the song.

I’m thinking bright eyes, “first day of my life” took some major influence off that song

I cannot believe that 4 years ago I thought of this song once, and what do you know? Here it is. It's a new years miracle. I think Marty subscribers make this comment of coincidence more than any other GREAT you tube instructor out there. Why? I do not know. Why does it bother me? I don't know, but I do know it's not them, it's me.

I just came across this video that intro is the best cover version of the song I’ve ever heard. And I’m a very critical Bon Dylan cover critic. Good job 👍🏻
