Galaxy Note 5: Black Screen Issue / Can't See Screen / Display Wont Wake Up- No Problem

Easy Fix! If your Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 or S7 is experiencing the black screen issue and perhaps you can still see some LED lights come on/off or even hear text messages or phone calls coming in then a simple hard reboot should do the trick. This will not delete any data or anything. If you still have issues then comment below and I will give you several more methods to try.

dude your a life saver, keep getting this issue over and over along with horrible freezes. Sent it to a repair shop twice per Samsung's request and they "couldn't" find anything wrong with it. So upset they wont give me a replacement and honor the warranty. Thanks, now I know how to handle this recurring issue

OMG, you are officially my 2016 Santa Claus! Called Sprint to end up with an apt on Monday, the day after xmas, so I wouldn't been able to take any photos or respond to any well wishes, did exactly what you said and now I'm back in business! I thank God for Youtube and for you as well. I tried this method but won't fix it. I end up fixing it by the " release battery method", I first drain the battery with the drain app from play store (every now and then the screen reappears, I took the chance to install and run the app), after the phone turn off because of out of power, I restarted it a few more times until it can no longer be turned up. Then I pressed and hold the power button for one night (with a rubber band and USB stick) to release all the remaining power. Next morning I recharged and started the phone, the black screen problem no longer appears ever since. The theory behind this method is that it will release the excess from memory, which is what's causing the black screen problem.
