Another purpose of Hajj is that during hajj Muslims associate themselves with Muslim Nation (Ummah) and they realize that this Ummah is beyond borders, colours, nationalities, casts, creeds and tribes. Wealth and social status don't matter. They all belong to one nation and this nation believes in One God, One Book and The Last Messenger (PBUH) of Allah. This realization helps to eliminate corruption in Muslim societies as a person who associates himself with this grand nation wouldn't want to harm his nation. This purpose of Hajj is also evident from the last sermon of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at Hujja tul Widah.
