I want to thank you for making this video. I was able to complete my 6112/5160 upgrade in 4 hours.

Yep, that's the way to work on the front suspension, whether you remove the strut as an assembly, as you did, or you remove the top shock nut and drop the shock and spring out individually, then it's called the "no spring compressor method".

Thank you, this is really helpful! You have a really chill style of instruction.

Used your instructions today for an Eibach Pro 2R setup for my 4Runner...quick and to the point which made the job simple, although I installed the Bilsteins on an earlier 4Runner 6 years ago. My only add was disconnecting a few more brackets on the front / back for ABS.

I was happy with the Bilsteins until the 6112's started leaking last year, but Bilstein wouldn't replace under the "Life Time warranty"....so I decided on Eibach this time.

I did my 5160s first while waiting for my 6112s to be assembled by Shock Surplus. I saw another vid that had the front stabilizer disconnected as a first step...good to see that the job can be done without that step. I believe just a small amount of loosening at the LCA bushings is enough to get the movement needed to do the install (keep track of how much the 22mm nut and bolt are turned). I like how you individually labeled the driver and passenger side shocks as the driver side is two circlips higher than the passenger side.

This is a GREAT setup! You've chosen wisely. :))
Now, it's time for "pizza cutters" (255/80 17R) on stock TRD Pro wheels (7" width is perfect for those tires). No rubbing, no body mount chop. The +4 offset of the TRD Pro wheels, combined with a lift below 2.5" solves a lot of issues. WELL DONE!

My nephew and I were talking about this yesterday up at fossil creek. We both have the off road 4runners. Nice!

Not gonna lie, some of the best install (DIY) vids on youtube!

This is exactly what I’m looking for! I’m in AZ and doing 6112+5160 on my 4Runner as well, I even have the same ryobi impact gun😂.
Tricks and lessons learned are invaluable, great job man!

I just installed Racerunners or Swayaway 2.5" coilovers for just a couple hundred more than the Bilsteins! The ride is plush and no body roll like the Fox 2.0's that I removed! The ride height adjustability while on the 4Runner on these was the only set back for me...

Pay attention kids, THIS is the way to do a replacement, NOT the way Eibach and other vids show by disconnecting the UCA, TRE, sway bar, brake line, yada yada...😱

Looks good! Hopefully you can keep up with me now!

Great video. So clear and precise. Is it possible to just do one side at a time? (Jack up one corner and remove that tire then do the other)

awesome video, a FJ is pretty much same underside. I checked on what a shot wanted and its crazy. I see where you placed front jack stands, but that rear one what is it on?

Nice video and thanks for posting. What do the green stickers on the fender do? It would be great if you could post another one that contains KDSS like GX460.

Great video, what clip setting did you have the 6112’s on in order to only get a 2 inch lift upfront?
