I have a feeling the fuse is there by default with those plugs to protect the plug (cut supply to device before rating of plug and cable is reached).
Its likely the floodlight has its own internal fuse to protect it.

Hes essentially got protection at the device, in the plug and through any RCD equipment at the switchboard.

While you're all commenting on the fuse size the other part most have missed is the wire lengths, the live and neutral appeared to be the same length, which is just as dangerous, I'll admit I never knew until fairly recently that they are different in order that they would potentially be pulled out should the cable grip fail, so live/line should be shorter, then the neutral leaving earth the last man standing. But for a few moments to test is no big deal, I know I've done worse 🤣🤣

Phillips are scarce in Kenya there is too much velmax and other chinese brands. Though liper German is readily available.
