Cancelled Philosopher comments on a book by contemporary philosopher and cultural theorist, Peter Sloterdijk. In "From Plato to Foucault," Sloterdijk gets into counterintuitive arguments in favour of some positions of Nietzsche and Heraclitus. Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher who wrote dialogues in which Socrates allegedly used the Socratic Method to intellectually interrogate people's opinions. Heraclitus was a Pre-Socratic, meaning that he preceded Plato and Socrates. Nietzsche was a 19th century Existentialist philosopher. Foucault is my favourite 70s pervert Post-Structuralist philosopher.
