Hiking 160km Across the island of Madeira

Located in the Atlantic Ocean, the island of Madeira, despite its small size, is home to an incredible variety of terrain. With hundreds of kilometers of trails passing by its steep jagged peaks, waterfalls, lush forests protected by UNESCO and tall sea cliffs at the coasts.

This film documents my 6-day experience, hiking 160 km across the island from the western shores, through the central mountainous spine and Madeira's highest peaks, and ending at the ocean on the other side of the island. Facing the diverse terrain, panoramic views, and a few challenges along the way.

Sit back, relax and enjoy this journey into nature!

You are an excellent narrator/story teller...it sets you apart from other hiking videos(I watch a lot of them)...well done!

I've gotta say that filming solo adventures like that and coming up with such great shots that support the story while trekking for days alone - it's no easy feat! Amazing job!

Glad to see you think alike and collect the trash. For years I was raging against the ignorant people who throw away stuff in the nature. Then realized so much less energy it takes to pick it up and throw it away, so the other hikers can have a better experience! I recommend using a MAG-drop belt attached pouch where you can safely store broken glass pieces and great for stuffing in the rain jacket and other stuff while on the move.

I wish you had more time to backpack. I absolutely love your videography and narration. You produce such incredible work, more like a film than a video.

Amazing video, like always! I actually just came back yesterday from hiking across Madeira haha (I did around 120km, 6 days also). I got amazing weather, besides in the last night, where I camped in ponta de s. Lourenço and got winds of 25km/h (there was a big storm coming to the island/Portugal). Sadly for me, a big and one of the best parts of the route was closed, because of the wild fires (PR1 from pico arieiro to pico ruivo), but the route was still enjoyable, even the regional roads are beautiful, with amazing views!

Thank you, Lyubo! That was a very inspiring watch! In the gear list, you don't mention the quadrocopter which you had, according to the shots? Also, the food? What did you bring? Did you buy it at the stops and popular spots?
