I wouldn't say Caitlin is necessarily FOCUSING on winning awards, it's just something that's happening to her. Clearly she would rather be in the gym refining her game than making public appearances, unless there's a children's hospital or some charity that benefits, or she's there to hype the TEAM, not herself. She spent more of her time on the Kelce brothers podcast talking about her teammates than herself. Whenever she did talk about herself, somehow it managed to work around to the other Fever 22, coach Stephanie White and what she's doing to help her refine her game. She freely admits that Taurasi had a small fraction of a point that she had a whole lot to learn, but that they were wrong to assert that she had no marketable skills at all, which is basically what they were saying.
