This happened in Montana after an earthquake. It's still there. They call it Quake Lake.

Well worst case scenario will happen the longer you do nothing then study it. Helicopter drop charges and make a small Chanel to get some water to flow and it will cut its way through slower.

In Chile happen something similar after the Valdivia earthquake in 1960, the Riñihuazo. A landslide block the river that drain a lake. The solution was open a series of controlled drains to avoid a flash flooding.

Why is no one talking about removing log booms and other floating hazads in the lower Frazier before the flood gets there

Nature in action, things like this shaped our world. The earth is not static.

Will the landslide blocking the river give way before the Leafs win the Stanley Cup?

The landslide is so big that the river won't be able to break it quickly.

Can’t say I wouldn’t be tempted to go down to the Fraser and get behind some of those big boulders to get some gold

The Oso slide in 2014 pushed across a valley, stopping up the river for a time.

Now that the water is low, gold pan the crap out of it.

"If" the dam breaks? It must overtop and break at some point.

Officials need to consult the experts.

It's a natural lake reservoir now. We can all move in and start a agricultural town there.

It's like a very bad case of constipation. You can't hold it back forever, and when it lets loose, look out! Doubt BC Geotechnical Engineers can do anything about this, except collect exorbitant fees from the government for putting on their thinking caps.

Why not put a big pipe from one side to the other to drain it, instead of waiting
