Firstly a pre programmed loop, also know as an automated loop or even an active loop is when you set up a point in the track you would like to loop and you activate it in your software so when your track reaches the loop point it automatically activates the loop.
The advantages of setting these up are numerous but mainly, let’s say you are playing your first show and you are crafting a complicated set or even a set where you have a lot going on and you found, in advance certain places you wish to loop, for instance perhaps the track drops off and gives you this perfect platform to do a really cool mix or perhaps you even want to loop a particular pattern in the track, well instead of adding more to remember when you play, you can program an auto loop.
