Lara and Tom Johnston are a daughter and father duo with a rich history of music flowing through their veins. Lara is emerging as one of pop music’s most dynamic voices. Her rich, soulful vocal tone has afforded her the opportunity to perform around the world, both on her own, and as a backing vocalist for artists like Don Henley and Belinda Carlisle. Tom is a guitarist and vocalist, known principally as a founder, guitarist, lead vocalist and songwriter for the rock group The Doobie Brothers, as well as for his own solo career.

Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music programs for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.
