This is the most useful video I have found. I just purchased a C, and ELM with 3 lenses for 1k all in working condition. This video made understanding the weird hasselbald system so much easier.

Some years ago I brought a 500cm at a really good price of $550. When I got it, it was jammed.I thought it was defective so I returned it to the seller. Wish I knew all that info back then. It used to be my dream camera too . Fast forward to present time I own a few. And I paid 3 times more than that $550 price.

Beautiful camera. I'm selling all my digital cameras. and will only shoot film from now on, or until I can afford the Hasselblad digital back.

The RB67 has some of these interlocks, depending which version (Pro, ProS, or ProSD) body and film back you have. I have a ProS body, but most of my film backs are Pro. I have the dark slide interlocks (can't fire the body/lens with the dark slide in), but no double exposure lock (except with my ProS 220 film back).

I do have a lock on the 220 back that prevents removing the dark slide with the back off the body, as well. I *can* fire the body with or without the lens, but both body and lens must be "cocked" to mount a lens or dismount it -- and my mirror, like yours, is not instant return so the viewfinder is dark unless the body/lens is cocked.

The RB67 has separate body and film back operation, so I advance film separate from cocking the body. This was combined on the RZ67, but that camera is much less versatile relative to what can be mounted on the film back mount; I have a 2x3 Graflok compatible mount and can mount Graflex and compatible roll film backs as well as the Mamiya backs, and even a 2x3 Grafmatic (of which I now have one) -- all of which revolve 90 degrees without having to hold the camera on its side (not an issue with the square frame Hasselblad default film back). There are Polaroid pack film backs as well (good luck finding Fuji FP100c at under $100 a pack for three or four years expired), plus (recently, and at premium price) Instax Square and Polaroid integral film backs.

I know that cameras that have a high price are usually better made, but goddamn, this stuff is more than better made, It's almost idiot proof. almost, cause i might end up messing up anyways, but still, would love these features on my 35mm cameras.

I got an A70, 70mm back with old filn still in. At 13 exposures but when I switched new cassette it hasn't reset & initial leader winding doesn't stop. Do I beed to mount on body to test ?

I can still press the shutter button even with the dark slide in :(

Just got a new 500CM. The shutter fully depresses but no sound comes. Under the ground glass the mirror seems to be stuck behind the curtain, it won’t move. I can’t even load my crank to action another photo. Do I need to send it back?
