FOR EVERYONE CONFUSED-
In the finale of twd world beyond, there was a scientist who was killed and came back, came back quickly, maybe 30 seconds. It was prob a decade ago, the scientist from the CDC was on a video talking about a new variant that hasn’t hit the US yet. The walker rose and started moving very quickly, running, and screeching as it pushed against the door with forces almost human like.

Crazy bc in the comics they some what could and in season one they were going to but the director said it was dumb and he wanted it to feel like their was at least some hope for humanity or sum like that

Season 1 they were running and climbing and using objects around them they were actually smart

My guess this is a way tie back to what the og zombies in season 1 were like, without the little part of humanity left in them that was hinted at. It would also tie into FTWD s3 with the air-vent walker that ate the soldier, and then the world bound's zombie that is a different variant.
