Pyramid Peak Winter Day Hike from Hwy 50

A nice day hike on Pyramid Peak from Highway 50, along Rock Creek. Decent snow and excellent weather made this a perfect Sunday outing. After a week that saw some new snow pile up, this was on a wonderful day that saw multiple parties on the mountain.
Conditions: a layer of 10-20 inch fresh snow on older compacted one. Excellent late winter / early spring weather, subdued winds. The unbeaten path in the morning became a boulevard by late afternoon.
Equipment: ski poles and snowshoes.
