I just did it on a new Cloud Key Enterprise Version after we switched from a Windwos based Unifi Controller according your Video. It was exactly the same procedere. Great Support Willie!! Top

This requires me to pay money for a domain name. This also require me to pay for the cert. Not to mention I have to manage it all. All this management just to access a single website on my own private network?

What about for the NVR? Also wouldn't you be able to use certwarden to do this with certs signed by letsencrypt? This way all you need it to own a domain.

If the cert is only good for 90 days. Is there a way to auto renew? This is way faster then the old way(aka why i never did it before). But still a pain every 90days. Thank you Willie, great video

Using SCP to drop cert and key in /data/unifi-core/config is only thing saved with GUI they added. If comfortable with ssh simple to copy the files... I think more useful will be keystore with cert for the portal theyve been needed forever....

I keep getting the message "the common name must be a valid hostname" when adding the certificates. Any suggestion?

Worked like a charm on cloudkey Gen 2. I wonder what happens if the certificate expires, how to recover from that?

Thanks! Questions 1) why do you need to put the domain in the LAN settings? 2) I'm guessing you could also make the DNS point to the router's public static IP and have it hairpin, right?

I mean, do I need to purchase a domain first? And what other configurations should be made on the domain to be able to use it with the UDM PRO?
