As the only daughter, this is soo true. I seem to understand my dad and he understands me.

The way I’d shut up so fast even though I’m the only daughter. I’m absolutely terrified of my dad when he’s angry.

This is so true that I felt empowered, I'm the eldest daughter, I'm the only one who "calms down" my father🤫🧏🏽‍♀️

I'm always the one to mediate when my parents argue, even though I'm not the oldest daughter.

And then right after we're crying our eyes out, our moms are bringing us fruit, telling us our dads love us(mostly to make us feel better)👍

As a daughter, I did more than humble him. I made him cry...

I'm an adopted daughter (unofficial without papers, my bio mom just gave me away) and my dad never liked me but my mom raised me to NEVER EVER let a man overpower me in any other way (except when it's logical stuff) and my mom also is a fiery woman that is capable of not only HUMBLING my father but also make him flinch and shake in fear. When they got me he thought I was just okay in being bossed around attempting to make a maid out of me INSTEAD of a daughter. I remember my mom said "Whether you came out of me or not, I raised you since you are a newborn. In society's eyes you are my daughter and no one else even if your Father didn't want you. Never ever BACK DOWN in a verbal fight nor raise your voice. Make them feel humiliated even BEFORE talking back to them. And yes, SPECIALLY to your Father." I applied that when my Father throws fits and tantrums around, just looking at him disgusted and rolling my eyes on him. He once called me out on it and told me that's an adult thing only to do, so I told him "Well if you acted like an adult in front of a kid then maybe that kid wouldn't give you an 'adult-like' reaction towards an immature child"

Then when I was in 5th grade someone bullied me and beat me up, and that's the time he finally cracked and accepted me and taught me how to fight physically. He apologized on his past actions and he said he'll try to make it up with me for the rest of his life and I did forgive him. I remember bawling my eyes out on his arms when he said "You're my daughter, and no person should beat up my kid. Your mom helped you build a tough mentality, I'll teach you to have a tough body"
