The downfall of Stark was that he never wanted to fight. He never seeked for more power and was happy with just having a companion.
He was tired of being alone but here's the twist, he was also lazy and never tried his best to protect what he had. My guess is, at some point he gave up living and was tired of what he was. I guess that's what it means to be a hollow(an arancar tho) They are not guaranteed to have all emotions like humans. Ulquiorra did asked, orihime... What does it feel like to have a heart? Stark Im not sure, but I believe he was stronger than 2 and 3. Remember, Ulquiorras' whole thing was about killing Ichigos hope so telling him while overwhelming him himself that if he somehow defeats him there are 3 others stronger than him is the perfect way to make him feel hopeless.

Also, the logic that Ulquiorra is stronger than Stark is exactly the same as rating Kenpachi Zaraki as the weakest of the Gotei 13 Captains during the fight for Karakura because he hasn't achieved Shikai or Bankai.

Wrong, it's confirmed that Ulquiorra is the strongest Espada. in his 2nd he was stronger. there are calcuaions. actually the power ups in the anime is going up extremly. so ichigos bankai after he lost his power and got it back, is stronger then his Vasto Lorde. But Ulquiorra's 2nd Etapa is a Vaso Lorde Form, one of 3 confirmed charackters that claimed this evoluion. But Ichigo is just Ichigo. And Ulquiorra never did fight seriously, he cared about Orihime, a full fight would kill them.
