I think you can oil the wooden cutting board like a real one with food-grade mineral oil. That probably seals it and makes it easier to sanitize. I'd also use the same kind of precautions used in regular cooking of separate cutting surfaces for vegetables and meats if you plan on tasting your cooked creations.

This reminds me so much of my doll kitchen that was brought out every Christmas when I was little. It had a working hob and oven, pots, pans, scales, cutlery, plates, a table and 2 chairs. I used to cook soup and pasta, it was so much fun. My mother told me that she also had a doll kitchen when she was young, and hers had even light and a working sink with a water cistern above.

I keep boxes too. My favorite is the grill, juicer, knife and vacuum. You can use the vacuum to clean other things too when eraser bits on desk etc. It will be interesting to see hamburgers cooking on the grill.
