About Singin' in the Rain:
Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor star in one of the greatest musicals ever filmed. Musician Don Lockwood (Kelly) rises to stardom during Hollywood's silent-movie era--paired with the beautiful, jealous and dumb Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen). When Lockwood becomes attracted to young studio singer Kathy Selden (Reynolds), Lamont has her fired. But with the introduction of talking pictures, audiences laugh when they hear Lockwood speak for the first time--and the studio uses Selden to dub her voice. Set during the advent of "talkies," this film classic song-and-dance numbers celebrate the beginning of movie musicals.

I absolutely adore how this film avoids the love triangle cliché. There is zero romantic tension between Cosmo and Kathy and zero sense of jealousy from Cosmo toward Don or vice versa. It’s simply a loving, sweet, supportive relationship between a couple and a guy who’s like a brother to them both.

This movie has THE best dance sequences I have ever seen. So crisp, synchronized, and catchy. An instant classic I’ve enjoyed since I was 5.

Debbie Reynolds herself said that the two hardest things she ever did in life was make Singing In The Rain and endure childbirth

How are they tap dancing so casually down the stairs. I would twist an ankle and do the Peter Griffin down a flight of stair case.

Wait a minute. So Quagmire got the song right and Joe still yelled at him? 🤣

Hats off to Debbie Reynolds who had to be trained in dance to play this role. They said her feet were bleeding in her shoes.

My Nanna used to sing this to me every morning when she woke me up. Now I sing it to my son. I used to watch Singing in the Rain on her VCR all the time. Great memories.

It's 03:50 in the morning because I have an early flight. I always listen to/sing this when I have to get up early

The sheer athleticism (beyond just great dancing) of all three is impressive .

Kudos to Debbie Reynolds. Not a trained dancer, and not particularly what who Gene Kelly had in mind when casting the movie. But she was an actress AND a performer: when the curtain went up you could guarantee she would know her lines, hit her marks, and throw 100% effort into her role.

It's pure artistry. This is the best, best choreography of all time. And voices - no computers, no samples - just the artist and his singing ❤️

My mother used to sing this song to me every morning before school. Talk about nostalgic. Makes me miss my childhood.

Thanks Dan Rather for providing this link today. And for the story about how Debbie Reynolds was trained to learn this dance!
