Up to this day the retailing of electricity has no real economic justification. It's not like a company has economies of scale and they're passing on the cost savings to the consumers. Or alternatively they have any form of value adding to the process.

All we have is the same PUB people maintaining the system while companies profit.

Watch out for misleading sales tactics. Did not get the vouchers indicated on their posters at roadshows. From se mb corp in cahoots w c I T I bank. Switch vendor but after more than a month still have not refund the deposit. If Singapore powers offer us competitive rates, could save us the time, effort and mental anguish to source for vendors.

As consumer we have not given the right to really know the real rationale or strategy of having different vendor to choose, does it really reduce the utilities bill and do we really paid less than before..Only time tells. Just like Telcom, just like different vendor management food centre, does it reduce cost or price or really paying less on each service. We need time to study.
