Here's it is!
Pump Handle Motion :
- Sternum motion anterosuperiorly
- Increased Anteroposterior diameter
- Sagittal plane motion

Bucket Handle Motion :
- Lower Ribs motion upward rotation with elevation
- Increased transverse diameter
- Frontal Plane motion

That's all

How the hell in thsi pump handle example, the sternum aka the the rod when it goes up the ribs aka the bucket goes down...The ribs aka the bucket should go up, right?

Hello I'm wondering is the setting of the video is different? I would like to save the video to my list, but I don't see any button allowing me to do so for this video.

Thank you for this! Is there any posterior movement of the ribs or spine during inhalation? Even if it’s only slight movement?

How would one go about getting the pump handle up in the case of someone who presents pump-handle down?

Movement of the 5th rib, is there only anteroposterior diameter?

Can the ribs act as both an anatomical pulley and a fulcrum?

This is wrong on so many levels. It’s all text book while in real life once you increase your abdomen circumference you inherently start losing intra-abdominal pressure. The abdomibal cavity expands therefore with the same volume of air loses its pressure. You would want to keep bottom ribs attached strongly with your anterior abdominal wall while having the possibility to have the ribs expand laterally and not forward and up. Having ripped the thorax out of the whole picture and look at it through binoculars is good for sure, but also taking them off and seeing the tremendous variability happening at once in the system is a better approach on the path. See, with the binoculars you might trip one day for not beeing able to see the surroundings.

The movement you illustrated is wrong, if you are actually looking for the correct movement, please do not base yourself off this video
