In this ski maneuver you will be turning your skis by simply rolling your feet and ankles up the hill to put the skis on their uphill edges to start the skis turning and then riding the edges as the skis turn up the hill until they stop. A very good exercise is to vary setting and releasing your ski edges during a traverse so you alternate turning and traversing.
