Lesson Objective:
The objective of this lesson is to familiarize with the allocation process in BPC and its prerequisites and configuration.
An allocation is defined as the process of sending amounts and/or quantities from one (or more) sender object(s) to one or more receiver objects. In SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, a business calculation engine known as script logic can be used to systematically define and run allocation functions.
In this lesson, you will learn how you can allocate cost from a profit center called GENERAL to another profit center. In this scenario, the GENERAL profit center is used to collect the cost and at the month end business input statistical key figures (allocation criteria) to allocate costs from GENERAL profit center to other profit centers. Like currency conversion, you can call the allocation script on the fly through DEFAULT.LGF or through Data Manager Package. In this example, ALLOCATION script is called through DEFAULT.LGF.
