The king travelled the whole world to die alone

It's almost poetic: the king eliminated the queen and suffered the wrath of the knights, the bishops, the rooks and ended up in the other king's domain to perish, wonderful!

Mate with a king move is always the most elegant one. It's like "Rooks, I'll grant this honour to you, thanks for having defended me". I see such a romantic poetry in this move.

The king was lured out by the queen, escorted by knights, let in by the pawn guard, and killed in the Tower.

Instead of checkmating with K-Q2 I could have done it by castling, which would perhaps have been more spectacular, as no player has ever been mated that way before, as far as I know. I actually considered castling, but the efficiency-minded engineer in me got the better of it and I played K-Q2 which required moving only one piece. - Edward Lasker

That game was played by the *GERMAN* Edouard Lasker in London when he couldn't speak a word in English and years before he moved to the US where he later changed his name and citizenship.

He could have disrespected Him back queen side castle checkmating him … instead Lasker was Humble and just move the King out the way … that’s class …

Imagine if that King takes it's mask off and be like "sike" I was a pawn. Promotes to a queen and takes off into the wild.
