My first car was a MK4, 1.4 16V. silver/grey (with four doors)
It was built in 2002, with an AXP engine.

This car was easy to handle and I really liked it.
Despite the high weight and relatively less power compared to the weight of about 1450kg, it turned out as very reliable and user-friendly.

Unfortunately, I lost my Golf Mk4 in an accident on April, 22nd 2022. (Wasn't my fault)
The car suffered structural damage.


After the broken car was sold, I bought another Golf MK4 - it is a 1.8T 20V GTI with an AGU engine, built in 1997/1998.
Golf Mk4s are the only cars I am going to buy and drive, as long as I am breathing.

mal ne frage, sollte man solche belastungen bei so alten autos nicht lieber lassen? so hohe drehzahl beiso alten motoren, die gehen doch gewiss sehr schnell kaputt dadurch.

aber irgendwas stimmt nicht so ganz mit der spur? kann das sein :D Golf 4 ist schon nen recht schönes Auto, gebe meinen 2l 4er variant auch nicht mehr her :D

It moves good for a 1.4.I have same model .I don't why that engine is hated so much .I drive golf 4 1.4(1999) 7 years. No problems .Just you must love the car and take car of it.

I did 180 on mine too :)) but I was able to go for more and I didnt wanted, he can go to 200 but hard
