My grandma couldn't read or write before she met my grandpa, grandpa taught her how to read and write so that she could write him letters or respond to his letters when he was away for work. May their precious souls rest in peace.

I watched a grown American man learn how to read by reading books on TikTok lives. I can’t remember his name but it was the most amazing thing. I’d just have him in in the background as he went from elementary age books to classics like Catcher in the Rye.
