JAYA is one of the most renowned singers in the Philippines with multiple hit albums. She started in the industry as a backup dancer for her Mother, comedienne, and Filipino singer Elizabeth Ramsey.

She has released ten albums, three of which went platinum: Jaya(1996), In the Rain (1997), and Five: Greatest Hits (2000). Two albums went gold such as the Christmas album Kung Kailan Pasko (1998) and Honesty (1999). Three of her most beloved hit songs include “In My Dreams,” OPM (Original Pilipino Music) favorite “Sana Maulit Muli,” and “If You Leave Me Now,” which in 1989 made her the first Filipino singer to make the Billboard dance chart.

Jaya is a joy to watch. She is very open. No fakeness whatsoever. Love her!

Her mother was a legend who was among the few Filipinos who made it as a regular performer in Las Vegas. A singer comedienne who always brought the house down with her antics. She brought us so much happiness on TV and on stage.

As a musical geek, Wale's ultimate interview would be with Lea Salonga.. I wanna see her geek out over the theatre side of things again.

Jaya and her songs will always be remembered. Thru generations and generations. She will never be forgotten. I am for sure. Her songs and unique singing really lamented her name in the industry that no one can take it away. I so love her. Just so simple, funny and genuine.

Listening to Jaya tells us that whatever your level in life is, we need validation. See how genuinely appreciative she is despite not knowing them in person. Moral: tell anyone you know & you care that you value them, think of something you appreciate that they are good at. I call it a food for the soul.

Jaya's record "wala na bang pagibig" was an LSS back in the 90s, I personally love that song because of simplicity. But her style in singing live is way different. She is a peculiar one when it comes to live stages especially in SOP show before. She would always change the arrangement in way that you would not recognize it especially because of her dynamic style in singing. I honestly didn't like it but probably because her style/technique was advance/unique at that time that the listeners like me would need time to comprehend. but now in this era her style is very relatable.
