Ladyhawke (1985) is a fantasy adventure film directed by Richard Donner, blending romance, action, and supernatural elements. Set in medieval Europe, the story follows the journey of a young thief named Philippe Gaston (Matthew Broderick), who escapes from a French dungeon and finds himself caught in a battle between two cursed lovers.

The film's central characters are Navarre (Rutger Hauer), a skilled warrior, and Isabeau (Michelle Pfeiffer), a beautiful woman. Due to a vengeful curse cast upon them by the evil Bishop (John Wood), Navarre and Isabeau are doomed to never be together. By day, Isabeau is transformed into a hawk, and by night, Navarre becomes a wolf. The curse ensures that they can never meet in human form, no matter how close they get to each other. Their love, while strong, is tragically unreachable.

Philippe, who becomes an unlikely ally to Navarre and Isabeau, sets out to help them break the curse, which will require confronting the Bishop who caused their misery. Along the way, the trio faces a series of dangerous obstacles, from treacherous landscapes to fierce enemies, culminating in a final confrontation where love, destiny, and courage are tested.

Great clip thanks! One of my all-time favorites.

Sad that most of the cast is dead, but then the movie is 40 years old this year. Time marches on.

I hope to see the surviving cast in the Ladyhawke series I keep reading about. This is still, and may always be my absolute favorite movie. Especially with the Alan Parsons score. It would be cool to have Alan P. write the score for the series.

And I am surprised there has not been a Ladyhawke videogame. Sword welding fighter, Navarre during the day with attack bird. Stealthy platforming with Isabo and Mouse at night. Could be a banger!!! Would have been better than Assassin's Creed Valhalla...😢
