Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan says that the motion for the top two posts not to be contested at the upcoming party polls is valid, adding that legal advice was obtained on the matter.

Umno mesti buat pemilihan kepimpinan terbaru skrg sebelum PRN di Pinang, Selangor, N9, Kedah, Kelantan, & Terengganu paling lewat pd Mei 2023. Relakanlah ahli2 parti menggunakan kebijaksanaan mereka dgn memberikan mandat baru yg akan menggembirakan pengundi2 n penyokong Umno sendiri. Jika tidak, undi protest prn akan berlaku sptmana yg tlh berlaku pd pru15 lps bilamana Bersatu n Pas yg mndapat undi mereka.

Parti umno mesti biarkan demokrasi yg dipilih oleh ahli2nya bg menentukan halatuju n kelangsungan hidup parti. Bukannya ditentukan oleh panglima2 dlm umno. Parti ialah hak ahli2nya, bukan pemimpin2. Pemimpin2lah yg bekerja utk ahli2 n pengundi2nya.
