“Automate coding” 😂 probably will confuse non-coders or bad coders even more.

So they won't fire engineers, but the department budgets won't increase, meaning that new engineers will not be hired.
So AI is competing with its creators !!

I used GPT4 to help with the coding and it’s amazing. I don’t know if copilot is better but the advantage I saw is that it can read your open tabs in VS code and take them into consideration. Does anybody have experience of how they both compare?

The Bloomberg hosts and people in these comments are so unaware of what software developers do. "oh yeah it can 'write code' so we can fire the developer" 🤣

I think Palantir is a better choice in this space.Basically everyone else is just trying to catch up to Palantir and offer some of the features that Palantir has been selling for a couple of years now.U S government is using Palantir along with the armed forces and quite a lot of large corporations who have been having fantastic cost savings results.Honestly how can they say copilot is a game changer when they just showed up to the party and have not even entered the house yet?.

The token context window is still too small, and the limitation to properly access my own files is still terrible, just like Gemini… you can only access a PDF in your drive.

I use it everyday… it’s utterly useless

Tried using Copilot and it was much less effective than ChatGPT. Same model, but handicapped by Microsoft.

This dude has no clue. For the pat year and a half engineers been going through mass layoff. What does he mean there not enough engineers 😂

As with most of the media talking about this field, the guy really is clueless. LLMs are not going to replace coders or data engineers. They are good at certain tasks, and even with programming, they really are only good at Python, and even with that there are mistakes made, for example in trying to build a semi-robust PySpark application. In my experience, they cannot write code well in R or Julia and are horrible at something like Mathematica or MATLAB, and it's obvious why this should be the case, but these guys NEVER say any of this.

think about it this way, the fact that apple is a monopoly means that all advances with have to go through it and benefit it the most. it is not that advance a by company a would make conpany a rich. it would simply be that apple would buyout a or clone a's advance. now think of the employees of apple. they are the beneficiaries of company a's advance without lifting even a finger. tldr, let anyone come out with anything what really matters is are you a monopoly
