Dear Students!
In this lecture, you will learn exercise 3c of Chapter 3 (Fractions) of Oxford New Countdown Book 4.
This lecture cover exercise 3c. In this exercise, you will understand the basic concept of Fraction, Like fraction, unlike fraction, ascending and descending order. Further more, you will learn about how to convert unlike fraction into equivalent fraction. Also you will understand how to simplify fraction in lowest form. Further more, you understnd types of fraction (unit, proper and improper) fractions. You will also understand the concept addition and subtraction of fractions.
In chapter 3 (Fractions), you will learn following topics.
1.Recognise like and unlike fractions.
2.Compare two unlike fractions by converting them to equivalent fractions with the same denominator.
3.Simplify fractions to the lowest form.
4.Identify (Unit, proper and Improper) fractions and mixed numbers.
5.Convert improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa.
6.Arrange fractions in ascending and descending order.
7.Addition of fractions with like denominator.
8.Subtraction of fractions with like denominator.
9.Multiply a fraction (proper, improper) and mixed number by a whole number.
10.Multiply two fraction (proper, improper) and mixed numbers.
11.Divide a fraction (proper, Improper) and mixed numbers by a whole number.
12.Analyse real life situations involving fractions by identifying appropriate number operations.
