There's psychology behind this! Apparently it's very rare to genuinely not have a preference but often times it's close - by asking, your brain actually makes a full decision. You can demonstrate this with coin flips, if you flip a coin to decide your brain will actually make the decision as it's spinning.

This is actually helpfull if you are indecisive. Everytime I have to choose between two options, I ask a person to do it for me, and think about how their choice made me feel. It's very easy to understand what you wanted that way

Guilty of doing this. But after some time I understood that I do it because it helps me understand what I actually prefer myself, once they tell me something they "force" an opinion about it so, based on my instinctive reaction to being forced in one direction, I can tell what I actually wanted from the beginning. I'm very indecisive so this helps me a lot even though people I ask for opinions are confused about it 😅
