I agree with you. The title Zero Dark Thirty is a great title for the movie. You also hear it is any time that no one can see you. At what time the, mission actually begins, I don't know because I have not seen the movie yet. I'm a former Marine.

Chastain stating that there are many heroes in this story beside her being the manin hero, makes me understand why this movie is supposed to be so good, either way it's propaganda, but I'll just being seeing it because I loved Hurt Locker, the cast in this is great, and the craftsmanship/filmmaking could be better than it looks in the trailers.

sorry to inform you it did. GS came in third, even the deplorably terribly reviewed "A Haunted House" beat out GS. ZDT made a cool 29 million so far this week not accounting for Sunday yet. ;)

After 30 years in the Army I can safley tell you it was a joke meaning "sometime before the sun would be up". Troops would complain that we had to be up at O dark hundred and the Sgt would say he was being nice and letting us sleep til O dark thirty.

Mac19971: Just got back from the film a couple of hours ago...It is propaganda, but extremely well done propaganda. The film leads you to believe that torture techniques played a major role in finding bin Laden. By most accounts, that couldn't be further from the truth. But, again, it's an extremely well crafted movie. Many will view it as the best military recruitment film ever made.

If written I suppose it would be 0030 hours but if you just said (oral) Zero thirty hours; everybody would know you meant 12:30 AM. If you said 1230 Hours it would be take as a half an hour past noon. 1 PM is 1300 Hours. If someone told you to be in the motor pool at 300 hours; You knew they meant 3 AM. The Army has some freakish obsession with starting everything at 3 AM. Thus the O dark hundred joke was born.
