It's not dumb my brother.. we all make mistakes. Remember it's only dumb if you don't learn from your mistakes

That's brilliant. My husband always says stuff like that. "I'm so stupid or that was so dumb". You are not dumb or stupid, especially if you're trying to learn to do new things. There are always better ways out there that we haven't heard of yet or someone hasn't taught us yet. Keep going. You are now a little more knowledgeable than you were before and if anyone asks, you can teach them a better way now too.

Hats off to you brother! YouTube is notorious for ridiculing people on their lack of knowledge or mistakes they make. So It's nice to see someone not afraid of admitting they made a mistake but also taking the criticism and applying it to their solution. Also, the trim looks great, nice job! 🤝💪👍

"Admit you were wrong." That is a phrase that true professionals will use vs salespeople.

You’re not dumb. You tried something you thought would work and it didn’t so you found something that worked. You solved a problem that needed a solution and it was an easy solution

You always get credit for trying. You also get the joy of learning from you mistakes. At the very least you didn't say I can't. I can't stand it when people say they "can't" when they never tried. I never allowed my kids to say, "I can't do that." If you try and fail, still, try again. If you try many times and don't succeed, then you can use that "I can't." As a result, me being a female taught my daughter to hang drywall and mud, as my father taught me. She does some really fine work. She also learned this guy's trick fix and it looks great.

I had my floors redone a couple years ago and as part of the process they ripped about 3 layers of nasty old flooring out. This left a good 1/4 to 1/2 inch gaps under all the door trims and I figured I would have to eventually replace them all. This is a much better solution. Thank you!!

In instances where this happens, I usually cut a small piece of trim and glue it in place. Then fill, sand, and paint. Doing that helps keep the profile of the trim easier.

You did what most people in this world can’t do is admit when you’re wrong & learn from mistakes
Everyone thinks if you make a mistake your laughed at/ridiculed etc but that’s how you grow as a person making mistakes & learning from them

I admire someone who admits their mistakes and takes advice from others... it shows professionalism and maturity... two things that have been going the way of the dinosaur the past decade or so... keep up the great work and never stop growing!

Love that you were willing to admit you made an error and then showed your effort to correct it. Reminds amateurs like me that even you pros are human.

It's not "dumb"! Mistakes are how we learn. Taking advice when it's asked for is also a smart move. The trim look do much nicer now!

Not dumb, glad you learned something new and was able to fix. If you were ever to rent I’d like an honest landlord like yourself.

It’s called learning from others-this is only a good thing. You did a great job ❤

1000%! The best thing we can do for kids is admit when we’re wrong I’m sure that also goes for our audience or clients!

Holy shit someone admitted to an error and showed how they made it better. More people like you on this app would really nice lol.

It's always super helpful to see you guys not edit out your mistakes. Walking us through the learning and correction process you go through is exactly the sort of stuff DIYers will run into and need to learn. Well done 😊
