I discovered the mayo on the outside and butter on the inside more than 15 years ago. I came to Youtube to prove my 11yr old son wrong because he loves my grill cheese and has been eating it his whole life LOL! Now putting it in the Air Fryer is new to me BUT you're results were amazing and I'll be trying this today hopefully for lunch with tomato soup. Thanks for showing you can make this perfection in the AF. I think the Mayo/Butter war is ridiculous when you can have the best of both worlds, honestly.

I tried this with butter on both aides and mayonnaise like you suggested. Well the mayonnaise won and was better. Learned something new today.

I never thought about putting mayo on a grilled cheese sandwich. I need to find someone with a block of government cheese like they had back in the day. Those were the best grill cheese sandwiches 😂 I’m about to use my air fryer a lot with suggestions from you guys on YouTube. Thanks for the tip 😊

I’ve never seen anyone else put mayo on the outside of their grilled cheese. This is how I grew up making grilled cheese. I also sprinkle a tiny bit of garlic salt inside the sandwich and I like to use miracle whip instead of mayo sometimes for a little bit of tang as well. Delicious 😋

I have used mayo along with home made garlic butter for my garlic toast for many years. The taste is gone but it makes for moist, crunchy garlic bread. Yummy.

I was a kid in the 70s. And used mayo to grill my cheese sandwiches. People in the 80s and 90s thought I was trying to kill them with warmed up mayo.
Well look where we are now.
