What is an Audio Speaker Cone? - Speaker Materials 101

The loudspeaker cone is really what creates the sound of the audio speaker and can be made with a lot of different materials depending upon the application of the speaker. Speaker cones can be made out of polypropylene, carbon fiber, acrylic treated cloth material, and good old paper—still one of the most commonly used cone materials in loudspeaker manufacturing.
