Adorable moment hero dog 'rescues' girl who is playing in the sea

Matyas was swimming in the ocean near Gouville-sur-Mer, France, with his owner’s granddaughter when a small ripple crashed over her. Deciding it was too dangerous for the little one to continue her leisurely swim, the pooch gently grabbed hold of her shirt with his teeth and dragged her towards the beach. The youngster found this highly amusing and let out peels of laughter as she was guided towards safety.

This Newfie has great instincts. Tides like that may look harmless, but can easily sweep you out to sea before you even know what's happening.

A friend of mine had two golden retrievers. I used to play with them on the beach and they wouldn't allow me to go too far; I guess they thought I could drown. I still have a scar 3 years later from one day one of them hit me when trying to rescue me in a river. They were lovely and kind. Both have passed away. Miss them.

He is so adorable, and was so gentle grabbing the girl's shirt and pulling her to safety. If there's any proof needed that a dog really is man's best friend, this is it.

You can see him trying to be gentle only pinching the shirt. Losing his grip then trying again. And she’s just having a blast. I love that she can trust that dog so much.
