My biggest problem of this season was that they focused too much on romance almost on each character: chalky, nucky and etc. The worst subplot is Eli's son struggling through college. He's probably the worst character.

I was disappointed when Chalky didn't kill Narcisse at the end of the Season. Chalky's ambush at Narcisse's spot on the Northside was terrible.

For most part boardwalk empire is a great show. Season 5 is very rushed and lackluster. It had some good elements though with the flashbacks. I believe like u said they had other priorities at time. My favorite episode of this series is the Scorsese directed pilot. The flow and pattern of that episode superb.

Mind was blown when I realized Lucky Luciano was played by the same actor that portrayed Hernan in Sopranos. At the time I had watched Boardwalk Empire before Sopranos.

Didn’t even realize it was him until I read through the cast members list.

Nice review. This is my second favorite tv show as of now, behind Freaks and Geeks. Unlike you, Seasons 1 and 2 were my favorite. I really missed both Michael Pitt and Aleksa Palladino's presence in the show. I did thoroughly enjoy every season, however. Also, while yes, season 5 is very rushed, it still has some highlights. I'm mainly referring Capone and Luciano, and the few scenes with the two of them together are truly incredible to me. So you're in for a treat there. All in all, I think season 5 is satisfying enough, at least it was for me. I hope you enjoy it man!
