What you say about controlled touches to see improvement and not going overboard reminds me of an advice I got from TM player Wirtual: If you're not in control, you're not improving. You're getting bad habits. It's good to push your limits, but you have to do it step by step in order to improve and not waste your time or worse learn bad habits. To me this was one of the best advice I ever got to change my whole mindset on learning. Control is underrated at lower ranks. But also most people have shit controller settings especially stick sensitivity. It took me 2.5k hours before I had enough skill to realize the importance of spending 1h in freeplay tweaking for good controller settings. And after that I managed to learn tornado flying. Then I pushed it too much, and before I realized it I spent another 900h overdoing it and missing a lot again. Now I tweaked them again, especially camera settings and I'm getting back up once more. I do believe why so many people suck at RL is because default settings are just terrible and people don't realize they need change until they have thousands of hours already. Would be cool if UE5 RL had some kind of feature to copy popular player's presets, and deal with custom stick curves and all inside of the RL settings directly, not with external driver software. Now I have custom left stick curves, custom right stick curves, custom trigger curves, and I'm all the happier and more precise for it. It really makes a huge difference to have actual control. The game feels like you have a lot more room for action, and you miss a lot less too.
