I don't know about improvements, but that SP9 paired with the Pen 2 looks pretty usable.

I find as a general rule with all versions of this tech, from the Cintiq down to the bottom floor, that it just doesn't pay to try to draw slowly. -Like when inking that one eye on an inch by inch face, I scrunch up and squint and go in with a surgeon's hand. You get one pass, so it's damned good that paper and pens allow for (and reward) that level of care and focus.

With a Cintiq.., forget it. Better to blow it up and do everything with moderate to fast strokes, which can lead to error, but the undo feature takes care of all that.

So long as you get a reasonable line on a screen drawn at comfort speeds, and a fast response from the cursor, and no glitching.., things seem pretty good with the level of development with this tech.

I'd say, from what I see in your videos, that the Surface Pro tech has 'solved' the pen issue. Ten years ago, I would have laughed at the thought.

But I've not done a hands on recently. All other things being equal, for a portable drawing tablet, would you pick EMR over electro static, (or whatever the SP Pen 2 is doing) or not care?

Cheers and thanks for these videos!

Please tell us more about that animated background.
1. Did you make it ?
2. If you did, how did you animate it ?
3. If you did not, where did you get it from ?

Could you do a test on how the performance and battery life is of the Intel version on battery saver mode, compared the ARM version on recommended mode?

I actually draw in "laptop mode" on my lap desk so the the Laptop 5 is one I've been looking at since I'd like a bigger screen but easy access to the keys. Just wish it was good for gaming and had more RAM.
