Warren Buffett is 91 and still going strong. Wow. I saw the whole interview and his cognitive skills are still all there. His speech speed and a bit of a cough is the only difference compared to his younger days but everything else is the same.

And there my friends is the reason Mr Buffett says for the majority of investors the S&P500 is the place to be. America has produced incredibly successful companies over the last 100 years. In the last 40 years alone we've had Microsoft, Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon, Tesla. All world dominators. Then there are the stalwarts of the last 100 years like Coca Cola, Pepsi, Gillette etc. And of course there are thousands more further down the list. What other country has come even close? To quote him 'Never bet against America'

buffet knows tesla is leader, he understands great products and brands because he owns apple. he just wont buy tesla stock if its not cheap and with lot of margin safety :) he bought apple when it was like 8p/e

It shows that most Americans would be willing to have 3 baby elephants worth of minerals in their trunk even if that meant cutting down an Australian rain forest to get to them. Not to mention extracting 80% coal, petroleum and natural gas resources to fuel the damn things.

By the way, he never said that he's wining or losing before. He was commenting on the moat of the company, along with facebook and others. He's point of view that you can't say with high certainty that even when EV are the norm that huge car companies like Ford and others won't be able to copy that with their huge market. The same that facebook has done with stories and other features that other competing platforms tried to do.

Also, we need to take into account what is the mindset of Warren Buffet, which is low risk, companies with moat around it.
