In USA 4D is not supported anymore, but stores don't know about it. They think that it is similar to FIT, not realizing that for 4D they would need to acquire a very expensive machine dedicated machine, which has been discontinued by Essilor. Essilor USA does not keep track of stores which have previously bought this machine, before it was discontinued 3 years ago. Essilor does not proactively communicates this to opticians. As a result, they find out about it very late in the process. I went through three appointments at two separate stores before they realized that they didn't have the equipment. They were actually unaware that they couldn't even order it, even if they wanted to. I found this myself after several phone calls and emails to Essilor. I wasted a ton of my and opticians time.
