The outside is underwhelming but the inside is gorgeous.

would have been nice if they also actually went into the hotel and interviewed current staff rather than mostly focus on the past, doesn't give anyone visiting and sense of how it is now. It's a beautiful hotel and should be shown as it is today less waffling about celebs the better.

This reminds me of a line from a The The song; "as their wallets grow fatter, their souls get thinner"

There are almost no current photos of the hotel's interior. Very poor quality compared to the Raffles or Balmoral episodes.

personally, i find it a very tacky and overly gilded place, inside and out. i highly recommend The Connaught, for anyone looking to stay in Mayfair, or London in general. it's an exceptional hotel.

nowadays all 5 stars hotels in London are saving records of guests preferences, tailoring and accommodating all their wishes with regards to their stay and dinning. What makes the experience enjoyable and unique is what new ideas they come up with and the staff exceptional service because you can be on the top of the world and have the best view, in the most luxurious place, but if the service and the staff are terrible you will never wish to go to the same place ever again. every guest feed themselves with warm welcoming, friendly smiles, impeccable service and enjoy being spoiled for the high price they pay. in my view, if you train the staff accordingly, improve the service, provide flexible and rich dining options, be creative, original and authentic and you'll be on the top of the list of the high 5 stars hotels. 😊

I really like the aesthetic of this hotel, the gilded opulence, the art deco touches, it's really quite glamorous and still stands as such. Only those with discerning taste would be able to fully appreciate it's design and decor.

The inside looks nice enough, but the outside looks like a La Quinta Inn that ran out of money before they could finish
