Ardyn: Somnus - Final Fantasy XV & Versus XIII AMV.

Показать описание
With the Tokyo Game Show about to start in a few days, which will probably reveal an Episode Ardyn trailer, I decided to try something different by creating a story AMV about Ardyn's past while I still have the chance to do so.
I'm still curious about what Versus XIII's story was intended to be about, so I'm kind of hoping that Episode Ardyn is a rebooted version of it with Ardyn taking Noctis's role and with Stella taking the role of the First Oracle, so I based my video on that idea and some things that were mentioned or implied in XV.
Since Somnus doesn't have a canon face yet and Ravus's face wasn't revealed, I'm portraying Noctis's original design as Somnus and merging Ardyn and Ravus into one role for the sake of the video. As for the music, I love Kal's cover of Somnus and thought that it suited Ardyn and this video better than the original version.

Story: Somnus meets up with Stella one night to discuss Ardyn, who has become dangerously possessive of the Crystal as the day of his ascension to the throne nears, and she informs him that the Astrals have become uneasy about choosing Ardyn as their King of Light. Stella requests Somnus's assistance in separating Ardyn from the Crystal and eventually, he agrees to betray his brother and they begin working together on creating a plan.
Sometime later, the Citadel is attacked by soldiers from Solheim, who wish to steal the Crystal, but Ardyn had caught word of it and is waiting for them at the entrance; Ardyn summons his Armirger and kills them all before going back inside. Meanwhile, Somnus and Stella decide it's time to set their plan into motion and when they meet up, Stella gives Somnus the Ring of the Lucii that was given to her by the Astrals and he gains access to its powers and the Armirger.
Along with Gilgamesh, Somnus and Stella head to the Citadel and when Somnus enters the room where the Crystal is being held, he finds Ardyn standing in front of it. Ardyn turns around and pulls down his hood, which reveals that he has been infected by the Starscourge, and they start fighting. With Gilgamesh's help, Somnus manages to bring him to his knees for a moment and as Ardyn pushes himself to his feet, he sees Stella arrive and assumes that she is there to help him, but instead she draws her weapon and joins Somnus's side.
The three of them overwhelm Ardyn and Somnus stabs him, but Ardyn manages to survive and is imprisoned at Angelgard. Shiva, in the form of Gentiana, arrives and takes Ardyn to be judged by the Astrals and he fights Bahamut. Ardyn fails Bahamut's test, which results in him being denied absolution for his sins, and he is executed by Ramuh.
However, when Ardyn arrives in the afterlife, his soul has become too corrupted by the Starscourge and he is rejected, which results in him becoming immortal. Ardyn awakens on Angelgard and soon learns that Somnus has been chosen by the Crystal, so Ardyn decides to interfere with Somnus and Stella's covenant journey by joining Nifihelm and starting a war between the two newborn nations, which would span two thousand years until the events of FFXV.
