At last check, using songs (even under copyright) to train an AI model is, under current US law, still considered a transformative process creating an entirely new item (the AI model). On the other hand, the creations of these models are currently unable to be protected by copyright (although, in something like this where significant human effort was still present, the song as a whole could likely still gain copyright protection). The only time legality comes into play is if the final song is passed-off as a creation of the original author, in which case this would constitute forgery (or the musical equivalent). That, or maybe personality rights, where the voice is used to defame the original singer or in some way manipulate or harm their public image. 🤔
