Should not the downward series continue. In other words the unmarked first 4, 5 6, 7 should be calculated first along with second series of 7.8. 9 and 10? This would give a different answer.

Your answer is transcendent.Look this:12=5+5+2, 21=12+3+6, so the solution is 21+8+11=40.
Your logic is arbitrary, if you consider that the right solution is 96.

Another way to solve it is adding 1 two the second term in the equation in all equations and you get 96 again

This is solving for the value of one.. as in one vote. In the first line 1=1. In the second line, 1=1.74. That is called rise in value. In the next line, 1=2.33. You calculate the percentage of rise, multiply the real answer using 1 as the true value of 1, then multiply that number by the rise.. 4+7=11x3.1

8+11=19.
Doesn't matter the if statement.
Because it's wrong.
Why won't people solve real equations and problems

Equations are written wrong. The single equation that fits all is x = ? mod y. ? = 52

Is 201 a valid answer?
My idea is converting the results to decreasing class of number systems starting from 6.
1 + 4 = 5 in Class 6 number system (5 => 5)
2 + 5 = 12 in Class 5 number system (7 => 12)
3 + 6 = 21 in Class 4 number system (9 => 21)
8 + 11 = 201 in Class 3 number system (19 => 201)

Having read through the other solutions I like 96 better I'm just curious if this is a valid solution. 🙂

the correct answer is 96 using your both solution method just that you forget to complete the sequence before solving for 8+11 in your first method.

It can be 77 also. 1 × 5 in the second row equals 5. 2 × 6 = 12. 3 × 7 = 21. So 7 × 11 = 77. I was taking the original first number times the next lines second number. It works.

1+4=5
2+5=12
3+6=21
4+7=32
5+8=45
6+9=60
7+10=72
8+11=91

Thats how I did it first. Would make sense to follow the numbers till 8+11 with simple addition.

Otherwise the answers are 96, 19 or 40 so far for me.

0+1+4=5
5+2+5=12
12+3+6=21
21+4+7=62
62+5+8=75
90+6+9=105
105+7+10=122
122+8+11=141

8+11=141

The second solution is adding additional numbers that aren't even there and therefore makes it incorrect. There are no math rules that tell you to multiply whatsoever.

It can be 40
21+8+11=40

But a riddle answer is 96
8+8×11=96
Or:
77+8+11=96

This is a cog issue
🤭😋

We do 1+4=5 and we do 2+5=7/7+5=12 and we do 3+6=9 / 9+12=21 and we do the final answer which is we do 11+8 which is 19 and we do 19+21= 40 the answer is 40🤔smart
