Chris's comment on not being able to judge/compare skating like you can football/most conventional sports is the exact argument I use when trying to explain to kids and non skaters why skating in the Olympics is kinda funny, and contradictory to everything that skateboarding is/means to so many of us.
Trying to explain that, along with how I'm also NOT against skateboarding being in the Olympics, is insanely frustrating because it seems impossible for a lot of people to grasp.
A great analogy to use in reference to judging/scoring skating is judging/scoring music at a battle of the bands/awards ceremony.
Just because the majority vote in favor of one band, doesn't mean the other band wasn't as good at playing their instruments.
POP(popular) music becomes popular because the majority prefers it, but most of us know pop music usually lacks(in everything that makes music great to artists) talent and is weighed down with money making formula's as to appeal to the majority(FYI: there's way more dumb puppet minded people than there are intellectually oriented ppl on this planet)
If you automatically thought "not all popular music is created by people who lack talent"
